The
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has expressed concern
with the level of insecurity posed by the activities of rival cult
groups to the residents of Sagamu.
The governor stated this while speaking
at the 29th Sagamu Day celebration held at the Methodist Secondary
School, Ijoku, Sagamu on Saturday.
The former state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, is from the town.
He said, “The frequent violent clashes
between members of rival cult gangs in this area have continued to
create fears in the minds of the residents of the town. It has become
imperative that measures are taken to check the activities of the cult
groups in this area.”
Amosun added that his administration
would continue to collaborate with security agencies to ensure that
Sagamu town was no longer a haven for people with criminal tendencies.
He added that aside from infrastructural
development, a clean and serene environment, security of lives and
property was an essential ingredient that would encourage the
development of any state.
He said, “If you look around Sagamu and
Remoland, you will see that we have been adhering strictly to our
electoral promises by providing infrastructure and others in our party’s
five cardinal-point agenda.
