Enyeama aims to be the best

Football | Super Eagles

Nigerian goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama believes he can be the best goal keeper in the world.
Enyeama’s statistics are frightening this term as he has conceded goals in only two of Lille’s eleven league games in Ligue 1.
The shot-stopper kept another clean sheet on Friday as Lille beat Nantes 1-0 on match day 11 but he is not resting on his laurels even as Les Douges now sit in 2nd place in the league standings.
“It’s about work, work and even more hard work. I believe in hard work,” he told the club’s official website, www.losc.fr.
Enyeama is certainly enjoying the best spell of his professional career and he took the time to explain the steps he has taken to get to the top.

Liverpool still count on Moses

Football | Nigeria

Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers has allayed fears over the first-team future of Nigerian winger, Victor Moses.
Moses was an unused substitute in the Reds' 4-1 win over West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Saturday.
Brazilian, Lucas Leiva was drafted in as Moses’ replacement but Rogers has now moved to clarify the situation insisting that his Nigerian dynamite has not lost his place in the first-team.
Liverpool’s comprehensive win coupled with the side’s impressive all-round display has now raised eyebrows in some quarters with some questioning the ability of Moses to force his way back to reckoning in the first-team.
Rodgers however insists Moses is still part of the first-team.
“Moses has obviously done very well for us since his arrival on loan from Chelsea. I only dropped him (from the team that beat WBA) for tactical reasons. He’s still very much part of the first team,” he told ITV.

English Football Association chairman Greg Dyke marked the governing body's 150th anniversary by pledging to help stamp out the evil of racism.
Dyke was addressing guests and dignitaries, including FA president Prince William and Fifa president Sepp Blatter, in a speech at a gala dinner in London on Saturday and he used the occasion to insist his organisation is determined to drive racism out of football.
The issue has become a hot topic again this week after Manchester City's Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure was subjected to racist abuse from CSKA Moscow fans during a Champions League tie in Russia on Wednesday.

Moyes enjoys late victory

It is unlikely David Moyes has had time to read Alex Ferguson's latest autobiography yet but the way his Manchester United pulled a victory from the jaws of defeat on Saturday was straight out of the old master's manual. Trailing 2-1 at home to Stoke City in the 78th minute the black clouds looming over Old Trafford looked ominous for Moyes who was staring at a fourth defeat in nine Premier League games since taking over from the retired Ferguson.
Then Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez, just as they so often did under Ferguson, dug United out of a hole.
Rooney equalised with a glancing header and with sighs of relief still echoing around the stadium, substitute Hernandez met a curling Patrice Evra ball into the box with deft header two minutes later to break Stoke's hearts.

Polokwane City halt Downs express

Polokwane City completed the biggest upset of the season so far when they beat Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday night in an Absa Premiership match.
Sundowns left-back Tebogo Langerman scored an own goal which proved to be the only goal of the match.
Sundowns had to make a sudden change to their line up with their skipper Alje Schut being withdrawn from the match due to a sudden illness. Experienced Zambian international keeper Kennedy Mweene took over the arm band.
Sundowns had their first sight at goal in the 13th minute when explosive winger Khama Billiat tried an audacious strike when he nearly caught out City keeper Modiri Marumo from way out on the right flank, but the ball just brushed the outside of the roof as it went over the target.

Ajax keeper holds Tuks at bay

The University of Pretoria and Ajax Cape Town played to goalless draw in an Absa Premiership game at Tuks Stadium on Saturday evening.
A terrific display by Anssi Jaakkola in dismal conditions earned the Urban Warriors a hard-fought point.
AmaTuks coach Steve Barker made no changes to the side that beat Golden Arrows 2-0, with Atusaye Nyondo and Geofrey Massa continuing their partnership in attack.
Muhsin Ertugral, on the other hand, made two changes to the side that beat Free State Stars in midweek. Thato Mokeke and Lance Davids who were used as substitutes in the game versus Ea Lla Koto started from the onset in place of Aidan Jenniker and Abbubaker Mobara.
The game got off to a tragic start as Geofrey Massa and Thulani Hlatshwayo had to be stretchered after a terrible clash of heads.
