In a message posted on Twitter on Tuesday, Obahiagbon, who describes himself as a verbal ‘contortionist’, called for a truce between the coach and the player, saying, “Keshi and Osaze need to bury the hatchet …”
Although the post could pass for a random and casual tweet, it did not go unnoticed by his numerous followers on Twitter.

Nigeria v Italy: What we learnt

Football | Super Eagles

Excellent football was on display on Monday night at Craven Cottage as African champions, Nigeria drew 2-2 with Italy in an exciting friendly international.
Many are adamant the game is the best performance by a Nigerian side for a long time and supersport.com now looks back on a special night from the perspectives of the lessons learnt in the first match played by Stephen Keshi’s charges since qualification for the 2014 Fifa World Cup was achieved.

Slow starters
Nigerian teams are notoriously slow starters to games and that was again displayed on Monday night.
The Super Eagles only started showing their true quality after Giuseppe Rossi had given the Italians the lead in the 12th minute.
Nigeria went on to score two quick goals to go into the break 2-1 up.
Exasperatingly, the African champions conceded again just two minutes after the restart as they began the half slowly again.

Wilshere set for WCup squad battle

Football | England

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere admits he faces a fight to secure a place in England's squad for the World Cup.
Just 12 months ago, Wilshere was regarded as the hottest young talent in England and a key member of the national team for years to come.
But the 21-year-old has endured a difficult period of late marred by injury problems and a loss of form.

He has been in and out of the Arsenal team and started on the bench for England's 1-0 friendly defeat against Germany at Wembley on Tuesday.
Manchester United's Tom Cleverley was selected ahead of Wilshere, who made little impact when he eventually came on as a second half substitute.
With England having just a handful of friendlies left before boss Roy Hodgson names his final squad for the World Cup, Wilshere acknowledges he still has to prove he is worth a seat on the plane to Brazil next year.

Bernard Parker's clinical second-half finish handed Bafana Bafana victory over the World and European champions, meaning Spain's first loss to South Africa in four attempts, after winning all three of their previous meetings.

Rangers hire ex-Man City exec

Wallace, 52, served as chief financial officer and then chief operating officer at the Abu Dhabi-owned English Premier League club between 2009 and January 2013.

He will seek to bring some stability to Rangers, 54-times national champions who were forced last year to relaunch from the fourth tier of the Scottish game after collapsing under a pile of debt.
His predecessor, Craig Mather, was forced out of the job after only months, undermined by feuding between rival factions seeking to control the club, which is listed on the London AIM stock exchange.
