After suffering a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of their hosts South Africa, Spanish coach Vicente del Bosque says there was no excuse for the result.
"It has been a long trip, but that's no excuse. We had time to rest and to train, so there is no excuse for the result," Del Bosque said after the game on Tuesday.
Bernard Parker's clinical second-half finish handed Bafana Bafana victory over the World and European champions, meaning Spain's first loss to South Africa in four attempts, after winning all three of their previous meetings.

Spain had played Equatorial Guinea three days prior and could only manage a nervy 2-1 win.
Against Bafana, Del Bosque's team looked unimaginative in front of goal and lacklustre in possession.
"They [Spanish players] were trying and they were sending some balls to the back of the South African team," said Del Bosque, who last week signed a contract extension that will see him stay with Spain until 2016.
"Nevertheless, they were unsuccessful and there was a lack of urgency as far as attacking was concerned."

Del Bosque said despite a valiant effort in the first half, Spain were unable to break down Bafana's defence which was superb on the night.
"The first 20 minutes were quite good, there were some occasions with some balls at the back of the South African team," he said.

"But little by little, the South African team were improving and in the end they were a little bit better. It wasn't our day, but there were some occasions were it could have been a draw."
Having already qualified for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil, Spain decided to come to South Africa and return to the ground where they lifted the trophy three years ago, after beating the Netherlands in the final.
