'I'm the best, don't need Ballon d'Or'

Football | International

Cristiano Ronaldo or Franck Ribery can have the Ballon d'Or, Zlatan Ibrahimovic does not need it.
The Swedish striker has been in superb form this year for Paris St Germain, scoring eight goals in this season's Champions League - as many as Real Madrid's Ronaldo - to help the French side ease into the last 16.

The Portugal forward, however, has emerged as favourite for the Fifa-Ballon d'Or award after netting a hat-trick for his country in a 3-2 defeat of Sweden in last week's World Cup playoff second leg, qualifying his country for the 2014 finals.
French winger Ribery helped Bayern Munich secure a treble last season and was early favourite for the award, won three times in a row by Barcelona's Lionel Messi, until Ronaldo garnered some late support for his performances with Portugal.

Four points clear at the top, Arsenal take on Cardiff in Wales on Saturday knowing that the next five sides in the standings are not in action until 24 hours later.
With a crucial Champions League game to come next month, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger knows he will have to rotate his squad over the coming games.

All systems go for Cosafa U20

Football | Cosafa Cup

The COSAFA Under-20 Youth Championships makes a return this year for the first time since 2011 when the competition gets underway in Lesotho on Tuesday.
Thirteen nations from the COSAFA region and East African guest side Kenya will make up the field, with Malawi the only southern African side that did not make the tournament.
Matches will be played at two venues – Maseru and Mafeteng – with the final set for December 14.
It promises to be a feast of junior football, where the next generation of stars for COSAFA sides will get to compete against their peers, and hopefully catch the eye of the watching scouts.

Vidal offers Juve more - Conte

Football | Champions League

Juventus coach Antonio Conte is still looking to get more out of midfielder Arturo Vidal, who scored the first hat-trick of his career in Wednesday's 3-1 Champions League victory over FC Copenhagen.
The Chilean's performance was another demonstration of his great versatility as he returned to his familiar midfield role three days after playing as an improvised defender in the 2-0 win at Livorno.
The tireless Vidal, who complements his ball-winning abilities with excellent distribution and an impressive scoring record, converted two penalties and topped his evening by heading home Paul Pogba's cross.
