Pastor Runs Mad While Trying To Cure A Mad Man In Ibadan

 Oke-Ado area residents of Ibadan, Oyo State, as well as shop owners and automobile dealers along Molete road in the town, on Thursday, watched a drama involving a pastor and a mad man.

The pastor, who was simply identified as Timothy, according to an eyewitness, got to Ososami junctions of Oke-Ado around 5.20 p.m and went to meet the mentally-deranged man, popularly known as Tunde, who was sitting in front of a building in the area.
Semiu, a shop owner around the spot of the incident who spoke with the Nigerian Tribune said the pastor began to read the Bible on sighting the mad man, while he moved closer to him and laid hands on his head.

Nigeria and Italy settled for a 2-2 draw in a pulsating friendly match played at the Craven Cottage in London on Monday.

Giuseppe Rossi opened scoring for Italy in the 12th minute before Bright Dike equalised for the African champions in the 35th minute off a header from Shola Ameobi’s shot.  Ameobi who plays for Newcastle in the English Premier League then gave his fans something to hold on to for the night when he shot Nigeria into the lead in the 39th minute as Nigeria led through the break. When play resumed, Italy went to work and earned the equaliser in the 47th minute through Giacchierini Immanuele.

All further attacks and counterattacks in the entertaining match failed to produce more goals for the countries already through to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Sports Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has said that the country will undertake a total overhaul of the full marketing possibilities of the Super Eagles and other national teams. The move is to ascertain the real worth of the national teams and place the proper value on them.

The minister, who spoke with our correspondent in Calabar shortly after the Eagles booked a place for Brazil 2014 World Cup, said it was saddening that the national teams have been undervalued over the decades to the detriment of the country’s interest.

Madu Justin, a-300 Level Business Administration student of the University of Benin, looked helpless on Sunday. He practically did not do anything tangible on that day. Apart from the church service he attended, the 21-year-old undergraduate could not explain how the day went.

He was just at home soliloquising and thinking of what has befallen him and the majority of the Nigerian students. Four days earlier, the young man had thought that Sunday would have ended his long stay at home following an industrial action embarked upon by members of the Academic Staff of Nigerian Universities since July 1.
