Kalulushi peg back Roan

Football | Zambia

Kalulushi Modern Stars breathed life into their hopes of surviving relegation from the MTN FAZ Super League after they played out a 2-2 draw away to Roan United in a week 27 fixture played at Konkola Stadium on Sunday.
Shadreck Musonda put the visitors in front with his 5th minute penalty but Lyson Sikaonga levelled for the home side twenty minutes later.
Roan United looked like they had grabbed the win when Chileshe Kabwe scored from a free-kick in the 76th minute but a late equaliser in additional time by Joseph Bwalya meant the two sides had to share the spoils.

Kalulushi Modern Stars coach Dick Ngwenya believes the point collected from the match gives his side a life line in the fight against relegation.

“The game was so easy and what we wanted most was a win; but we just gave way the game through carelessness at the back. Otherwise we need to go back and see how far we can go with the remaining games. Chances of survival are still there; we never lose hope until the nail goes in,” said Ngwenya.
Roan United coach Kaunda Simonda told fazfootball.com that he was disappointed with the officiating in the lead up to the equaliser by Kalulushi.

The result means that Roan United stay in 9th position with 35 points from 27 matches while Kalulushi remain in 14th with 21 points from 26 matches and will need to win all their remaining four matches to have any hope of surviving relegation and only if Nkwazi, Kabwe Warriors, Konkola Mine Police and Napsa Stars lose all of their remaining respective matches.
Roan United need to collect eight out of a possible twelve to be assured of playing top flight football next season.
