Chenene doubtful for Pirates clash

Football | Telkom Knockout

There is uncertainty over Bennett Chenene’s participation in Saturday’s Telkom Knockout semifinal against his former club Orlando Pirates because of a family bereavement.
Club sources said Chenene’s grandmother had passed away and they were uncertain about the funeral arrangements, which might inhibit the winger from playing in the vital cup tie at Atteridgeville.
The club already have to do without defenders Roscoe Petersen and Thabo September.

Petersen has suffered another knee injury just weeks after returning from almost a year off with an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury.
This latest setback, suffered in training, has nothing to do with the old injury but is still a blow to the defender sidelined in December last year not long after signing from Chippa United.

September suffered a torn meniscus in the Telkom Knockout quarter-final against Moroka Swallows at Atteridgeville on October 19 after landing badly and twisting the knee while defending in the penalty area.
The 31-year-old underwent surgery earlier this month but has already begun his rehabilitation.
