Falconets to pound Tunisia

Football | Nigeria

Falconets coach, Peter Dedevbo has said his side will not show mercy to Tunisia in the second round first fixture of the 2014 Fifa Under-20 Women's qualifying match billed for the Fifa Goal Project pitch, Abuja on Saturday, December 14.

The Nigerian campaigners humiliated Sierra Leone 16-0 on aggregate in the first round fixtures while Tunisia humbled North African neighbours, Morocco to pave the way for the epic clash that will see the aggregate winners progress to the final stage of the qualifying race.
Dedevbo said his wards will go for a comprehensive win that will make the reverse fixture in a fortnight in Tunis a mere formality.

"We don't know much about the Tunisians but understand they're a high-scoring side like ourselves.
"We're not leaving anything to chance but working round the clock to ensure we hand them the toughest match of their lives.

"We won't treat them as minnows but approach the game as we would in the tie involving the continent's heavyweights like Ghana, Cameroon, South Africa and Equatorial Guinea among others.
"Definitely, we'll hand them. comprehensive defeat that will make the second leg in Tunis more or less a mere formality.

"I'm not particular about the goal margin at the moment but the maximum three points.
"But be rest assured we'll take all our chances at goal and make sure we convert the entire chance.

"The players are ready and raring to pounce on the Tunisians, they've vowed to pick one of the spots meant for Africa at the World Cup and won't allow Tunisia or any other side to cut short their lofty dreams," said the Delta Queens coach to supersport.com.

The biennial global football showpiece will hold in Canada next year.
The Falconets ended their campaign in the immediate past edition in Japan at the semifinal stage.
