The
public seems to believe that the intervention fund the Academic Staff
Union of Universities secured from the just concluded struggle is meant
for the union to manage or for the lecturers’ pockets. ASUU as a body is
not going to be involved in spending a kobo.
The fund goes into the
respective university’s account for the Governing Council to manage and
spend on projects. Each ASUU branch only needs to monitor that projects
are not abandoned or substandard.
