The invitation of three members of the 2013 U-17 World Cup winning Golden Eaglets to the home-based Super Eagles poses new challenges to the trio, reports ‘TANA AIYEJINA
On Thursday, Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, released a 30-man list with six players on standby in preparation for January’s African Nations Championship in South Africa.
The list is made up mainly of regular home-based players who have played one role or the other since Keshi took over as coach of the national team two years ago.

Bride escapes death after wedding

A bride narrowly escaped death in an auto crash while on her way from her wedding. The accident involving a NNPC  tanker with number plate XG 321 MKA, a cargo truck and two saloon cars happened at about 4: 45pm on Saturday, close to the Otedola bridge, Alausa, on Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
Our reporter who witnessed the accident said the NNPC truck, while descending the slop from Alausa at top speed, could not hold its break. It then ran into the first car and squashed the second one against the cargo truck.

UNKNOWN gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Miss Julie Harry, the daughter of the former Vice-Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party, late Marshal Harry.
The eldest son of the late politician, Mr. Sonny Harry, who disclosed this to SUNDAY PUNCH on Friday, said his sister was seized by hoodlums on December 1, 2013, about 100 metres away from her residence in Eleparanwo, Rivers State.

How come an accountant is into interior decorations?
There is no law that stipulates that everybody must practise what they read. I read accounting but I never worked in an office.  My degree has not gone to waste because even as an entrepreneur, my accounting background always comes to play in almost everything I do. Nigerian couple jailed for N4.9bn UK fraud

Two members of a Nigerian gang, that executed an almost £19m (N4.9bn) global Internet banking scam, in which they hacked the accounts of nearly 2,500 people.
DailyMail reports that, Aderoju Bammeke, 22, and his girlfriend Jessica Ogunyemi, 20, both of Manchester, were the UK ‘platform’ for a Nigerian ‘phishing’ scam that made £41,000 (N10.6m) in just two months.
The gang reportedly sent fake emails to customers of banks in UK, including Barclays and Halifax.
The emails told recipients that their accounts had been hacked and asked them to complete a form with their log-in details.
