Abati: Jonathan Has Fully Recovered, Presides Over HIIC Meeting In London

News coming out of London has it that President Goodluck Jonathan, who was indisposed and could not attend the opening of the meeting of Nigeria’s Honourary International Investors’ Council, HIIC, on Thursday, has fully recovered.

A tweet by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, read “President Jonathan recovers from indisposition, he is presiding over the HIIC meeting in London right now. [He] will deliver his address shortly”.

It would be recalled that in a radical departure from the past, the Presidency had in a terse statement yesterday informed Nigerians that Mr. Jonathan had taken ill and after examination by ‘competent medical practitioners’, was advised to take a rest.

“The Presidency wishes to assure all Nigerians that President Jonathan’s condition is nothing serious and that the medical attention he has sought is only precautionary” the statement read.
