Alonso doubtful for Bafana friendly

Football | Bafana Bafana

Spain suffered an injury setback ahead of their friendly international against South Africa on Tuesday. Midfielder Xabi Alonso limped off the pitch in their 2-1 win over Equatorial Guinea on Saturday.
Alonso who was replaced by Sergio Busquets shortly before the break was playing for the national side for the first time since March after suffering a series of injuries.

The Real Madrid anchorman was one of several Spain players on the receiving end of some wild tackles from their opponents, many of whom play in Spain's lower leagues.
The Spanish FA (RFEF) said the player had suffered a bruised ankle, suggesting he may be unavailable for the friendly against Bafana Bafana.
Spain will be returning for the first in three years at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, the scene of their maiden World Cup triumph in 2010.
