Oboabona scores in Rizespor's loss

Nigeria defender, Godfrey Oboabona, had a mixed outing for his club, Caykur Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig game against Konyaspor on Monday.
Though Oboabona scored for Rizespor at the Konya Ataturk Stadium, it was his own goal that helped the hosts claim all points late in the match.

After a goalless first half, Konyaspor took the lead through Omer Sahiner on 49 minutes.
It took Caykur Rizespor 24 minutes to draw level and it was the Super Eagles centre-back who popped up at the other end to score for his team.
The defender shot past Konyaspor's Cameroonian goalkeeper, Charles Itandje, with a left-footed strike from Cenk Ahmet Alkilic's assist.

But Oboabona's joy was shortlived as he erroneously turned in the ball into his own goal leaving Serkan Kirintili in goal for Rizespor with no chance.

The centre-half in a bid to protect his goal turned home Mehmet Uslu's free kick into his post.
The former Sunshine Stars man played all 90 minutes nevertheless and was even booked half an hour into the encounter.

However, his compatriot and teammate, Uche Kalu played for 78 minutes before he made way for David Depetris.

Rizespor have dropped from 12th to 13th position in the Turkish league standings following Monday's loss at Konyaspor.
