News making around town has it that Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi have just taken possession of a brand new estate “The Brody House” in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles… The new house we heard set’s the 2008 wedded couple back by Thirty Three Million Eight Hundred and Eighty Eight Thousand Dollars.
The house which has Thirteen thousand Five Hundred and eleven square feet boast of Six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a pool, gym, spa, tennis court and sits on 2.3 acres of landscaped gardens is a sight to behold.
The house is located close to the Playboy bunnies’ home and was extensively renovated in the last two years and regarded as one of the most iconic home in L.A. The couple sold their California home last September for 10.58 million Dollars.
Ellen’s television and film work in the late 1980s and early 1990s included roles on television in Open House and in the film Coneheads. In 1992, producers Neal Marlens and Carol Black cast DeGeneres in their sitcom Laurie Hill, in the role of Nurse Nancy MacIntyre. The series was canceled after only four episodes, but Marlens and Black were so impressed with DeGeneres’ performance that they later gave her a job with ABC.
De Rossi, born Amanda Lee Rogers in Horsham, Australia, is the daughter of Margaret, a medical receptionist, and Barry Rogers. She attracted international attention when she joined the main cast of Ally McBeal in 1998, playing lawyer Nelle Porter.
Ellen will host the 2014 Oscar awards later in the year.
