Frimpong suggests Arsenal racism

Football | Ghana

Ahead of his club’s League Cup clash with Chelsea later tonight, Arsenal and Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has spoken out about a lack of opportunities.
Frimpong will not feature in the match and is yet to make an appearance at all for the Gunners this season.

When asked, on Twitter, why he was not in the squad the response from the player was that he sometimes wished he were white and English.
However, pundits say that to suggest the 21-year-old is not getting game time under Arsene Wenger due to his race and nationality is a strong call, especially when Wenger has actually been criticised in the past for not fielding enough English talent in the first team.
The Frenchman is famous for having given African and black players many opportunities to shine over the years.
In fact since Martin Keown and Ray Parlour retired in 2004 just one white, English player – Jack Wilshere – has been fielded by the Frenchman.
The youngster has failed to break into the first team in north London after loan spells with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic and Fulham in the past few years.
The 64-year old Arsenal boss is said to not rate Frimpong – based on the player’s ability – and tweets like this are hardly endearing.
