Is Jonathan encouraging corruption?

The All Progressives Congress has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of shielding the Aviation Minister, Ms. Stella Oduah, in the N255m bulletproof car scandal rocking the ministry.

Multiclique: Why do we have the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission and the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police Force? Why set up an administrative panel to investigate fraud if it isn’t aimed at covering up tracks and loopholes? If the man GEJ is sincere, he should have called in all these anti-corruption agencies to investigate the matter independently.

Babalai: So true. If Jonathan had plans to fight financial crimes and eradicate corruption, he would have done a lot of things differently, such as suspending the aviation minister with the brazen evidence in public domain while the probe is still ongoing. He would not have offered presidential pardon to a convicted thief.

Bodmas: It is a shame of the highest order, considering the way the President is handling the Oduahgate scandal. It is quite evident that Oduah approved a sum above the N100m limit provided for in the constitution. Ordinarily, there is no need for setting up a committee. She should have been arraigned in a court of competent jurisdiction to answer for the charges once and for all. But everyone knows that our President likes to form needless committees here and there.
