Onigbinde seeks greater laurels for Nigeria

Chief Adegboye Onigbinde
Former Super Eagles coach Adegboye Onigbinde said on Monday that Nigeria would be a force to reckon with in sports if available talents were to be properly managed.
Onigbinde made the remark in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
“I’m never satisfied with any level of achievement otherwise one could easily say ‘okay we have qualified for the World Cup; we won the Africa Cup of Nations. So, everything is perfect’, Onigbinde said.
“We used to say that the sky is the limit but modern technology has proven that the sky has no limit, so our ambition should not have any limit.”
He said that the nation could stand taller than its present ranking in football in spite of its achievements so far.
Onigbinde also urged administrators to do the needful by ensuring that the country’s sportsmen and   women are nurtured to attain the status of other world-class athletes.

“I think our major problem is development. I have said  oftentimes in this country if we utilise the environment and all the things God has given us in this country, for example, I can’t see any other country that should be a threat to Nigeria,” he said.
“But we are not getting our acts right and I think that’s the major headache.”
