Hull City manager, Steve Bruce, admitted in September that he had a gem within his ranks in the shape of Nigerian midfielder, Omatsone Aluko.
Aluko began the 2013/14 Barclays English Premier League season like a house on fire as he put in impressive performances week after week for the Tigers.
He started the first eight league games played by Hull and was a joy to watch most of the time.
The apex of his performances was recorded on September 29 at St James’ Park where he fired home a phenomenal volley to inspire a 3-2 victory against Newcastle United.
That performance, more than any got Bruce purring afterwards about the virtues of his 24-year-old charge.

“I knew him from his days as a very young man and I never doubted his quality. He will make a very big impact this season. We only pray that he does not get injured,” Bruce said.
Bruce’s worst fears came to pass on October 19 at Goodison Park during a Premier League game between Everton and Hull City.
Everton’s Gareth Barry performed a horror tackle on the Nigerian who was lucky to escape without a broken leg.
The injury however ruled him out of action for two weeks.
Aluko was set to make his return to action on Saturday but pulled up in the warm up as Hull prepared to face Sunderland at the KC Stadium and he was promptly replaced by David Meyler.
This will come as desperately disappointing news to the former Glasgow Rangers start who was just building up a head of steam this season.
