State governorship candidate in the November 17 election, Ifeanyi
Ubah, has commended former internationals for their performance
against Anambra All Stars on Saturday.
The former stars, led by former Super
Eagles captain Austin Okocha, defeated the Anambra team 6-3 at the
Nanka Stadium. The game was arranged to herald the Anambra Sports Week.
Ubah, who is the Nigeria Football
Federation Youth Ambassador, said he sponsored the game and the sports
week to show youths in the state that they could become successful
through sports.
He urged them to always use their
expertise to better humanity. He praised the ex-internationals for
turning up for the encounter.
Other activities lined up for the sport
week are refresher courses for the coaches in the state and the training
of young athletes.
Former Eagles coach Samson Siasia is
expected to lead other coaches in the refresher course. The state
coaches will get the latest technique in coaching, while the students
will get to meet the former stars.
