Mixed weekend for Ghanaians

In South Africa, Edwin Gyimah played 90 minutes for SuperSport United in their 3-0 loss to Platinum Stars in the ABSA Premiership.
Yakubu Mohammed and Frank Sarfo Gyamfi both played for Maritzburg United as they drew 0-0 with Bloemfontien Celtic on Sunday.
Frank Acheampong was an 85th replacement for Fabrice N’Sakala in Anderlecht’s 3-1 victory over OH Leuven on Saturday in Belgium.
Genk’s 3-2 away victory at Mons saw Bernard Kumordzi play 90 minutes for the club. Nana Kwesi Asare and Daniel Opare faced each other when Gent lost by a lone goal to Standard Liege. Both players played the full length of the game.
Derek Boateng was an unused sub for Fulham in their 3-1 home loss to Manchester United on Saturday.

In Italy, Isaac Cofie played the entire game as Genoa beat Lazio by two goals to zero at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
Kwadwo Asamoah played the full game for Juventus in their 1-0 away win at Parma.
Sulley Muntari played 69 minutes for AC Milan in their 2-0 home loss to Fiorentina. The Ghanaian midfielder was replaced by Riccardo Saponara with 21 minutes left.
In Germany, Kevin-Prince Boateng played 87 minutes for Schalke when they beat Hertha Berlin away from home.
Richmond Boakye-Yiadom was not part of Elche’s team that drew 2-2 at Athletic Bilbao. The forward is still recovering from a concussion from last week’s match against Granada.
Jordan Ayew played the full game for Marseille as they drew with Rennes on Saturday. Ayew scored in the 16th minute for Marseille to cancel out a 9th minute Nelson Oliveira goal.
Andre Ayew was suspended for the tie while John Boye is still recovering from injury.
Jonathan Mensah saw 66 minutes of action for Evian in their 2-1 victory over Toulouse on Saturday.
Mubarak Wakaso was involved in Rubin Kazan’s 0-0 draw at Rostov until the 46th minute when he was replaced by Roman Eremenko.
In Switzerland, Ebenezer Assifuah scored the first of FC Sion’s three goals against Luzern on Saturday before being subbed in the 68th minute by Ovidiu Herea.
That was the forward’s second goal in consecutive weeks since joining the club after the Under 20 World Cup.
