Sepp Blatter

London, Jan 7 - FIFA president Sepp Blatter has reportedly accused Brazil of being 'badly prepared' despite five months left before the country hosts the World Cup this year.
The tournament opens on 12 June when the host nation face Croatia in Sao Paulo's Arena Corinthians, which, along with another stadium, were the sites of worker-related casualties, while six of Brazil's 12 stadium s have failed to meet the Dec 31 deadline set by FIFA.

According to the BBC, Blatter expressed his dissatisfaction over the preparations in Brazil, saying that no country has been so far behind in preparations since he joined the football governing body in 1975, becoming president in 1998.
Blatter further said that Brazil is the only host nation which has had so much time - seven years - in which to prepare, adding that the country has just found out the scale of the work required and has started work too late.
The report mentioned that construction problems and public protests about the financial costs of hosting the World Cup have beset the preparations of Brazil, which lasted hosted the World Cup in 1950, for the tournament. (ANI)
